The global asset management firm revenues were $613 million for the quarter, down just 1%. Net income zoomed 238% to $50 million. Earnings per share were 35 cents compared to a loss of 26 cents in the year ago quarter.

The online retailer revenue rose 14% to $4.65 billion in the quarter. Net quarterly profit declined 10% to $142 million punctuated by a steep decline in its flagship business of selling media products like books, music and DVDs. Earnings per share fell to 32 cents from 37 cents a year-ago quarter.
