    Dollar General first quarter net income increased 15% to $157 million. EnerSys fourth quarter net earnings grew to $30.1 million. Phillips-Van Heusen first quarter net income was $57.7 million. VimpelCom first quarter net income surged 55% to $589.7 million.

Daktronics, Inc. ((DAKT)) soared 7.4% or 80 cents to $11.55 after the electronic scoreboards and display system supplier said fourth quarter net sales rose to $114.4 million compared to $92.0 million in the same period last year. Net income in the quarter was $3.0 million or 7 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $4.9 million or 12 cents per share a year ago.

Dollar General Corporation ((DG)) slumped 7% or $2.45 to $32.66 after the discount retailer reported first quarter sales improved 10.9% to $3.45 billion in the latest quarter from $3.11 billion in the previous year. Same-store sales rose 5.4%.

Net income in the quarter increased 15% to $157 million or 45 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $136 million or 39 cents per share last year.

EnerSys ((ENS)) decreased 2.4% or 88 cents to $34.92 after the industrial battery maker said fourth quarter net sales increased 22% to $548.0 million compared to $450.5 million in the same period last year. Net earnings in the quarter grew to $30.1 million or 59 cents per diluted share compared to $17.8 million or 36 cents per share a year earlier.

Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, Inc. ((JOSB)) declined 13.5% or $7.72 to $49.38 after the men''s clothing and accessories retailer reported first quarter net sales grew 8.5% to $193.27 million from $178.13 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased 12.7% to $17.81 million or 64 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $15.81 million or 57 cents per share in the previous year.

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. ((LGF)) gained 5.7% or 34 cents to $6.27 after the motion pictures maker reported fourth quarter revenue fell to $376.9 million compared to $401.6 million in the same period last year. Net income in the quarter was $46.1 million or 33 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $22.3 million or 19 cents per share a year ago.

Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation ((PVH)) rose 0.7% or 47 cents to $66.44 after the apparel maker said first quarter total revenue doubled 121% to $1.37 billion from $619.04 million in the same quarter last year. Net income generated in the quarter was $57.7 million or 79 cents per diluted share compared to a net loss of $27.6 million or 53 cents per share for the year-ago quarter.

Rex American Resources Corporation ((REX)) rose 0.4% or 8 cents to $16.79 after the alternative energy company reported first quarter net sales and revenues grew 13.9% to $81.2 million compared to $71.3 million in the same period last year. Net income in the quarter rose to $4.7 million or 49 cents per diluted share compared to $4.2 million or 42 cents per share a year ago.

Sealed Air Corporation ((SEE)) slipped 4.4% or $1.13 to $24.42 after the packaging material maker agreed to acquire Diversey, a leading solutions provider to cleaning and sanitization market in transaction valued for $4.3 billion. The transaction is expected to be completed in 2011.

Shanda Games Limited ((GAME)) increased 4.9% or 35 cents to $7.49 after the China based online game company reported first quarter revenues grew 9.6% to RMB 1,252.6 million from RMB 1,143.2 million in the year-ago quarter. Net income in the quarter declined 4.9% to RMB 312.9 million from RMB 329.0 million in the year-ago quarter. Earnings per ADS were RMB 1.10 compared to RMB 1.14 last year.

VimpelCom Ltd. ((VIP)) fell 0.2% or 4 cents to $14.04 after the Netherlands based telecommunication service provider reported first quarter revenue increased 23% to $2.74 billion compared to $2.23 billion in the same period last year. Net income in the quarter surged 55% to $589.7 million or 46 cents per diluted share compared to $381.5 million or 38 cents per share a year ago.
