Greek Talks Turn Friendlier for Now

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras struck a friendlier tone in looking for a solution to the debt problem of Greece. Prime Minister Tsipras is still looking for debt write down and tie future loan payments with the primary budget surplus.

Market averages in Tokyo eased from the recent 7-year high and investors focused on the latest batch of earnings. Citizen Holdings nine-month revenues jumped 5.6% and net soared 33%. Suntory Beverage & Food annual sales rose 12% and earnings advanced 16%. Mabuchi Motor net was ahead of expectations.

Australian market indexes soared in active trading after commodities rebounded and domestic earnings supported market momentum. Newcrest Mining reported surging earnings on flat revenues and also said that the gold miner is open to selling its third largest mine. Sims Metals soared.
