Sales fell 80% to $107.4 million and net income fell 52% to $11.8 million or 16 cents a share. Gross margin in the first quarter of 2010 for the sale of potash was $109 per short ton or 31%, compared to $435 per short ton or 60% in the three months ended March 31, 2009.

Sales rose 23.5% to $2.26 billion and net income rose 252% to $101.1 million or 44 cents a share. On a two-year basis comp store unit sales trend improved sequentially from a negative 14% in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010 to a negative 8% in the first quarter. Wholesale unit sales grew by 52%.

Sales rose 10% to $1.28 million and net income rose 55% to $97.5 million or 70 cents a share. Gross profit was 48.3% of sales for the quarter versus 46.6% in the prior year. Operating margin for the quarter was extremely strong 13.2% of sales. An improvement of 342 basis points over the prior year.
