Apple Drops 6%, Netflix Plunges 11%

Apple Inc dropped as much as 6% in aftermarket trading after it reported lower than expected earnings. Netflix plunged 14% after it estimated a quarterly loss.
Apple Inc ((AAPL)) reported fiscal third quarter ending in June earnings increased to $8.8 billion or $9.32 a share compared to net income of $7.3 billion or $7.79 per share in the quarter a year ago.
Revenues increased 23% to $35 billion and Apple said it sold 26 million iPhones, 17 million iPads and 4 million Mac computers.
Netflix Inc ((NFLX)) dropped as much as 14% after it estimated a loss.
Netflix said that it may not reach its estimate of 7 million subscribers for its streaming service in the U.S. and said it many lose as much as 10 cents a share or earn as much as 14 cents a share in the third quarter.
In the third quarter the movie rental company said it may add between 1 million and 1.8 million net subscribers to its streaming service.
