Siebel Systems Lowers First Quarter Outlook

Siebel Systems Inc. (SEBL), a San Mateo, Calif.-based provider of business software, lowered its first-quarter revenue forecast to $297 million to $300 million, below its Jan. 27 outlook of $325 million to $345 million. The company expects net loss of 1 cent to 2 cents a share, reflecting an acquisition charge.

Shares fell 8.6% in after-hours trade on the Nasdaq Tuesday.

Intervoice Inc. (INTV), a Dallas, Texas-based provider of voice and data services, said net income for fiscal year ended Feb. 28, 2005 jumped to $22.5 million, or 59 cents a share, from $11.3 million, or 32 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue surged 11% to $183.3 million as the company improved its cash flows and launched a next generation messaging platform.

Shares were up 8.4% in after-hours trade Tuesday.

Infodata Systems Inc. (INFD.OB), a Herndon, Virginia-based software provider, said net income for the year ended Dec. 31, 2004 jumped to $1.10 million, or 19 cents a share from $471,000, or 9 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue increased 15% to $9.65 million, reflecting income tax benefits.

The company expects to report a loss for the first quarter of 2005. The stock is trading at around $1.55.

Dendrite International Inc. (DRTE) based in Bedminster, New Jersey, sees first-quarter loss below expectations because of consolidation costs. The company, which provides software and services to pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods industries, expects a loss of 1 cent to 4 cents per share.

Shares dropped 4.3% in after-hours trade on the Nasdaq Tuesday.
