Net income in the quarter fell 30% to $24.4 million or 26 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $34.8 million or 35 cents per share a year ago.
American International Group, Inc ((AIG)) fell 8.2% or 6 cents to 67 cents.
Baidu, Inc ((BIDU)) gained 4.6% or $5.74 to $128.09 after the China''s most popular online search engine said fourth quarter revenues rose 58% to Rmb 902.1 million from Rmb 571.1 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 31% to Rmb 288.7 million or Rmb 8.31 per ADS compared to net income of Rmb 219.8 million or Rmb 6.32 per ADS a year ago.
Barnes Group Inc ((B)) jumped 15.1% or $1.56 to $11.85. The international aerospace and industrial components manufacturer and logistical services company reported fourth quarter sales fell 25% to $265.4 million from $354.2 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $10 million or 19 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $17.6 million or 30 cents per share a year ago.
Benihana Inc ((BNHNA)) rose 22.2% or 50 cents to $2.75 after the nation’s largest chain of Japanese theme and sushi restaurants said third quarter revenues fell 3.7% to $67.2 million from $69.8 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $4.0 million or 28 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $3.2 million or 19 cents per share a year ago.
Blue Nile, Inc ((NILE)) decreased 9.6% or $2.03 to $19.00 after the online jewelry retailer said fourth quarter sales fell 23% to $85.8 million from $111.9 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 53% to $3.5 million or 24 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $7.5 million or 45 cents per share a year ago.

CVS Caremark Corporation ((CVS)) added 3.7% or $1.01 to $28.00 after the provider of prescriptions and related healthcare services reported fourth quarter revenues rose 10% to $24.1 billion from $21.9 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 17% to $949.3 million or 65 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $811.2 million or 55 cents per share a year ago.

Expedia, Inc ((EXPE)) fell 15.5% or $1.33 to $7.20 after the online travel company reported fourth quarter revenues fell 7% to $620.8 million from $665.3 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $2.76 billion or $9.60 per diluted share compared to net income of $65.4 million or 22 cents per share a year ago.
GameStop Corp ((GME)) rose 11.5% or $2.86 to $27.73 after the world’s largest video-game retailer raised its fourth quarter earnings per share outlook between $1.33 and $1.34 from its previous estimate of $1.31 to $1.34. The company estimated 2008 earnings per share in the range of $2.39 to $2.40.
Group 1 Automotive, Inc ((GPI)) declined 5.5% or 44 cents to $7.45 after the operator in the automotive retail industry reported fourth quarter revenues fell 24.4% to $1.1 billion from $1.5 billion a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $44.5 million or $1.96 per diluted share compared to net income of $5.5 million or 24 cents per share a year ago.

Sprint Nextel Corporation ((S)) gained 23.9% or 65 cents to $3.36 after the third-largest mobile-phone carrier in the U.S. reported a $1.6 billion fourth quarter loss. The company continues to lose subscribers and wrote-off the remaining good will for the purchase of Nextel.
Synopsys, Inc ((SNPS)) added 4.0% or 74 cents to $19.14 after the chip design software maker said first quarter revenues rose 7.7% to $339.8 million from $315.5 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 13% to $52.4 million or 37 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $46.4 million or 31 cents per share a year ago.
Whole Foods Market, Inc ((WFMI)) surged 32.1% or $3.39 to $12.68 after the largest U.S. natural- foods grocer reported fiscal first quarter earnings excluding certain items of 25 cent.
