India's benchmark indexes are set to close down more than 3% in the current week after foreign investors stayed on the sidelines following a hawkish interest rate outlook by the U.S. Federal Reserve.
The Sensex index decreased by 0.6% to 78,731.33, and the Nifty index fell by 0.6% to 23,818.80.
On the Mumbai stock exchange, 128 stocks traded at their 52-week highs, and 17 stocks traded at their 52-week lows.
Dhanlaxmi Bank Ltd. advanced 4% to ₹41.98 after the company's board approved a rights offering to raise as much as ₹298 crore.
The rights offering between January 8 and 28 is priced at ₹21 per share, and investors on record on December 27 will receive 18 shares for every 25 shares held.
KPI Green Energy Ltd. rose 4% to ₹795 after the company set January 3rd as the record date for a bonus issue of one share for every two held.
The company also signed a preliminary and non-binding agreement with the Rajasthan government to develop a hybrid solar and wind power project in Jaisalmer.
Balaji Telefilms Ltd. declined 4.5% to ₹84.48 after the company's board approved the sale of ₹131 crore worth of shares through preferential allotment.
Amara Raja Energy and Mobility Ltd. gained 4% to ₹1,233.40 after the company's batteries were selected by Hyundai Motor India.
Exide Industries advanced 0.6% to ₹442.05 after Hyundai Motor selected the company's lithium-ion cells and battery packs for its electric vehicles in India.
Bharti Airtel Ltd. jumped 0.7% to ₹1,611.40 after the company paid the final installment of ₹3,626 crore to the Department of Telecom for the purchase of wireless spectrum acquired in 2016.
GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. soared 2% to ₹2,153.55 after the company won an order worth ₹400 crore.
