Earnings Review

Aerovironment Inc ((AVAV)) surged 12% or $10.52 cents to $98.02 after the electric vehicle and unmanned aerial vehicles maker said revenues in the first-quarter ending on July 28 jumped 127% from a year ago to $78 million.

Net in the quarter swung to profit $27.3 million or $1.14 per diluted share from a loss of $5.9 million or 25 cents in the same quarter last year.

The unmanned aerial vehicles maker forecasted fiscal 2019 revenue between $290 million and $310 million and diluted earnings per share in the range of $1.10 to $1.40.

Donaldson Company Inc ((DCI)) jumped 4.8% or $2.41 to $52.87 after the filtration systems maker reported revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in July soared 9.8% from a year ago to $724.7 million.

Net income in the quarter surged 50.2% to $102.4 million or 78 cents per diluted share from $68.2 million or 51 cents in the same quarter last year.

Donaldson forecasted fiscal 2019 revenues growth between 6% and 10% and diluted earnings per share in the range of $2.29 and $2.43.

DocuSign Inc ((DOCU)) plunged 7.8% or $4.94 to $58.16 after the electronic signature technology provider stated revenues in the second-quarter ending in July surged 33% from a year ago to $167 million.

Net loss in the quarter widened to $36.7 million or 22 cents per diluted share from $12 million or 39 cents in the same quarter last year.

The digital signature technology provider forecasted fiscal 2019 revenues in the range of $683 million to $688 million and gross margin between 78% and 81%.

Guidewire Software Inc ((GWRE)) advanced 2.4% or $2.31 to $99.24 after the software publisher said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in July jumped 37% from a year ago to $248.6 million.

Net income in the quarter surged 50.2% to $83.4 million or $1.02 per diluted share from $26.9 million or 36 cents in the same quarter last year.

The software developer forecasted fiscal 2019 revenues between $740.5 million and $752.5 million and net loss between $19.5 million and $10.1 million and diluted loss per share in the range of 24 cents to 13 cents.

G-III Apparel Group Ltd ((GIII)) soared 6.4% or $2.81 to $46.87 after the apparel, footwear, and accessories maker reported net sales in the second-quarter ending in July advanced 16.1% from a year ago to $624.7 million.

Net in the quarter swung to profit $10.1 million or 20 cents per diluted share from a loss of $8.6 million or 18 cents in the same quarter last year.

G-III lifted fiscal 2019 net sales forecast to about $3.06 billion from the earlier estimate of $2.97 billion and net income between $125 million and $130 million from the earlier estimate of $112 million and $117 million.

The apparel maker estimated diluted earnings per share in the range of $2.45 to $2.55 from the earlier estimate of $2.20 and $2.30.

Lands'' End Inc ((LE)) tumbled 17.1% or $4.28 to $20.78 after the casual apparel and home decor retailer said revenues in the second-quarter ending on August 3 soared 6.4% from a year ago to $307.9 million.

Same store sales in the quarter in Lands'' End Shops at Sears locations declined 6.7% while same store sales in company operated stores decreased 0.6%.

Net loss in the quarter widened to $5.3 million or 16 cents per diluted share from $3.9 million or 12 cents in the same quarter last year.

Navistar International Corporation ((NAV)) slumped 3.9% or $1.61 to $38.99 after the commercial trucks, buses and military vehicles reported revenues in the third-quarter ending in July surged 18% from a year ago to $2.6 billion.

Net income in the quarter jumped to $170 million or $1.71 per diluted share from $37 million or 38 cents in the same quarter last year.

Navistar forecasted fiscal 2019 retail deliveries of class 6 trucks and buses in the United States and Canada in the range of 390,000 to 410,000 units and Class 8 retail deliveries between 260,000 and 280,000 units.

The commercial vehicles maker forecasted fiscal 2019 revenues are expected to be between $10.1 billion and $10.4 billion and operating profit between $775 million to $825 million.

In fiscal 2019, Navistar forecasted retail deliveries of Class 6 trucks and buses in the United States and Canada in the range of 385,000 to 415,000 units and Class 8 retail deliveries between 255,000 and 285,000 units.

Verint Systems Inc ((VRNT)) jumped 7.3% or $3.45 to $50.65 after the security, management and surveillance software provider said total revenues in the second-quarter ending in July soared 11.5% from a year ago to $306.3 million.

Net in the quarter swung to profit $22 million or 33 cents per diluted share from a loss of $6.4 million or 10 cents in the same quarter last year.

Verint Systems forecasted fiscal 2019 total revenue of about $1.24 billion with a range of 2% and diluted earnings per share of about $3.15, growth of 12% from a year ago period.
