Clorox Acquires Supplements Maker Nutranext, Stone Energy Net Swing to Profit

Earnings Review

Aclaris Therapeutics Inc ((ACRS)) plummeted 6.6% or $1.41 to $19.87 after the dermatology drugs maker said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December was $999 million.

Net loss in the quarter widened to $22.9 million or 74 cents per diluted share from $11.5 million or 49 cents in the same quarter last year.

Aclaris forecasted fiscal 2018 research and development expenses in the range of $67 to $75 million after planned execution of Phase 2 clinical trials in AA, AGA, and vitiligo.

American Midstream Partners LP ((AMID)) rose 3 cents to $11.98 after the oil and gas refiner said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December slumped 4.7% from a year ago to $167.6 million.

Net loss in the quarter widened to $127.8 million or $2.54 per diluted share from $21.2 million or 60 cents in the same quarter last year.

The Clorox Company ((CLX)) slipped 65 cents to $130.92 after the consumer and professional chemical products maker agreed to acquire a privately held dietary supplement manufacturer Nutranext for $700 million.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth-quarter of 2018.

Middlesex Water Company ((MSEX)) gained 24 cents to $36.86 after the water utility services provider said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December fell 1.6% from a year ago to $130.8 million.

Net income in the quarter rose 0.3% to $22.7 million or $1.38 per diluted share from $22.6 million or $1.38 in the same quarter last year.

Stone Energy Corporation ((SGY)) jumped 3.7% or $1.21 to $34.10 after the oil and natural gas explorer and producer stated revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December soared 27.5% from a year ago to $319.2 million.

Net in the quarter swung to profit $382.7 million or 85 cents per diluted share from $247.6 million or $12.38 in the same quarter last year.

Viewray Inc ((VRAY)) dropped 2.8% or 22 cents to $8.02 after the medical equipment maker said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December soared 23.6% from a year ago to $19.9 million.

Net loss in the quarter widened to $24.6 million or 38 cents per diluted share from $11 million or 25 cents in the same quarter last year.

In fiscal 2018, ViewRay reaffirmed total revenue in the range of $80 million to $90 million.
