Earnings Review

CBOE Global Markets Inc ((CAE)) plunged 9.4% or $10.41 to $100.74 after the trading and investment solution provider said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December soared 86% from a year ago to $265.6 million.

Net income in the quarter jumped to $254.6 million or $2.26 per diluted share from $44.7 million or 55 cents in the same quarter last year.

Coherent, Inc ((COHR)) increased $1.64 to $207.53 after the photonics maker reported revenues in the first-quarter ending in December jumped 97.3% from a year ago to $490.3 million.

Net income in the quarter jumped 139.6% to $73.8 million or $2.96 per diluted share from $30.8 million or $1.25 in the same quarter last year.

Moody''s Corporation ((MCO)) gained 1.4% or $2.19 to $154.33 after the credit ratings provider reported revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December surged 24% from a year ago to $1.2 billion.

Net in the quarter swung to profit $25.5 million or 13 cents per diluted share from a loss of $428.6 million or $2.25 in the same quarter last year.

Moody’s forecasted fiscal 2018 revenue to increase in the low-double-digit percent range and expenses to increase in the low-double-digit percent range and operating margin in the range of 43% to 44%.

New York Times Co ((NYT)) dropped 3.4% to 82 cents to $23.58 after the media and publishing services provider said total revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December jumped 10.1% from a year ago to $484.1 million.

Net in the quarter swung to a loss of $56.8 million or 35 cents per diluted share from profit of $37.1 million or 23 cents in the same quarter last year.

NVIDIA Corporation ((NVDA)) advanced 3.8% or $8.17 to $225.77 after the graphics processing unit maker reported revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December soared 34% from a year ago to $2.9 billion.

Net income in the quarter surged 71% to $1.1 billion or $1.78 per diluted share from $655 million or 99 cents in the same quarter last year.

Tenneco Inc ((TEN)) fell 17 cents to $54.20 after the clean air producer said total revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December jumped 11% from a year ago to $2.4 billion.

Net income in the quarter soared 78.9% to $68 million or $1.31 per diluted share from $38 million or 69 cents in the same quarter last year.
