Ascension Health and Providence St. Joseph Health, two catholic non-profit healthcare services providers are in merger talks and create the largest hospital network.

The deal will create combined revenues of about $44.8 billion from 191 hospitals in 27 states.

The news was first reported by Reuters.

bluebird bio, Inc ((BLUE)) surged 30.5% or $52.15 to $223.05 after the clinical-stage biotechnology researcher said it had developed potentially transformative gene therapies for severe genetic diseases and T cell-based immunotherapies for cancer.

GGP Inc ((GGP)) rose 15 cents to $23.58 after the shopping centers operator today said that it had rejected $14.8 billion buyout offer from Brookfield Property Partners to acquire remaining stake of 66% in the company.

On November 13, GGP said that they received an unsolicited proposal from Brookfield for $23 per share for the stake to acquire all of the outstanding shares of common stock.

Kadmon Holdings Inc ((KDMN)) jumped 7.1% or 26 cents to $3.90 after the biopharmaceutical products maker reported additional positive findings from an ongoing phase II clinical trial of KD025.

Syros Pharmaceuticals Inc ((SYRS)) plunged 49.1% to $6.30 despite the biotech company reporting encouraging results.

The initial clinical data from the phase II trial of SY-1425 in a targeted set of 29 patients for the treatment of patients with acute myeloid leukemia and 29 patients with myelodysplastic syndrome showed higher level of clinical activity in 43% of patients.

The company no longer plans to do more tests for SY-1425 as a single agent but a separate study of phase II trial evaluating SY-1425 in combination with Azacitidine in a recently diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia.

Sysco Corporation ((SYY)) dropped 57 cents to $62.07 and the food products distributor said it ordered 50 electric semi-trucks made by Tesla.

“We are excited to begin the process of incorporating alternative-fuel trucks into our fleet,” said Sysco chief operating officer Tom Bene.

Tesla has announced to launch two truck versions, one with a driving range of 300 mile on a single charge for $150,000 and the second one with a driving range of 500 miles for $180,000.

The productions of the electric trucks are schedule from 2019.
