In London trading, FTSE 100 index jumped 37.44 or 0.5% to 7,431.39 and in Frankfurt the DAX index slid 14.36 to 13,139.51.
In Paris, CAC 40 index fell 9.65 or 0.2% to 5,389.43.
Axel Springer SE fell 0.2% to €67.95 after Germany-based online classified advertising and publishing services provider said it is in talks with Television Francaise 1 SA for a potential sale stake of 78.43% in digital media Aufeminin SA.
BAE Systems Plc rose 0.2% to 558 pence after the U.K.-based defense, aerospace and security products maker and Qatar signed a deal to 24 Typhoon aircraft to Qatari Emiri Air Force valued at about £5 billion or $6.7 billion.
The deal is announced in Doha by Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson and Khalid bin Mohammed al Attiyah.
The contract for delivery is expected to commence in late 2022.
Stahlgruber Otto Gruber AG, the Germany-based privately held vehicle spare parts and equipment maker agreed to be acquired by the U.S.-based auto-parts maker LKQ Corporation for about $1.8 billion.
Petrofac Limited advanced 2.1% to 427.75 on local news reports that Jersey-based oil and gas producer intends to sale its North Sea business and reduce its $1 billion debt and settle legal disputes.
Photo-Me International Plc declined 4.3% to 179 pence after the U.K.-based automatic vending machines maker said revenues in the first-half ending in October soared 10.5% from a year ago to £122.2 million.
Net profit in the period jumped 9.9% to £24.3 million from £22.1 million in a year ago period and diluted earnings per share increased to 6.40 pence from 5.84 pence.
Wirecard AG slipped 0.7% to €88.76 after Germany-based electronic payment services provider today said it had signed a letter of intent to enter into exclusive negotiations with Credit Agricole Payment Services.
