European markets dropped on the lingering worries in the banking sector after the U.K. voted to leave the European Union and widening loan losses in Spain and in Italy.
In London trading, FTSE 100 index slumped 101.23 or 1.6% to 6,444.21 and in Frankfurt the DAX index dropped 219.93 or 2.3% to 9,313.
In Paris, CAC 40 index declined 87.07 or 2.1% to 4,078.13.
Air Liquide SA declined 4.2% to €89.60 after the France-based industrial gases provider forecasted group revenues to increase in the range of 6% to 8% up to fiscal 2020.
Following the Airgas acquisition on average efficiency gains are expected to be more than €300 million per year.
Booker Group Plc gained 1.1% to 166.20 pence after the U.K.-based food wholesaler said group sales in the first-quarter ending on June 17 increased 10% while excluding Budgens & Londis comparable sales dropped 2.9%.
easyJet Plc declined 4.2% to 1,012.37 pence after the U.K.-based budget airline said total passenger count in June soared 5.8% to 6.9 million from 6.6 million and load factor grew 1.4 percentage points to 94.1% from 92.7% in the same month the year ago.
International Consolidated Airlines Group SA plunged 6.8% to 352.60 pence after the U.K.-based parent of British Air said traffic in June jumped 13.6% and capacity soared 13.2% from a year ago month.
In June, total passengers carried jumped 21.3% to 9.45 million from 7.79 million and passenger load factor increased to 84% from 83.7% in a year ago month.
Melrose Industries Plc surged 35.4% to 554.75 pence after the U.K.-based heavy machinery and vehicles agreed to acquire the U.S.-based home ventilation products maker Nortek, Inc for $86 per share in cash without interest or £1.10 billion or $1.44 billion for an enterprise value of about £2.154 billion or $2.81 billion.
Nortek Inc stock in Nasdaq stock exchange soared 39.2% to $87.
