Earnings Review

Calavo Growers, Inc ((CVGW)) soared 7.9% or $3.89 to $53.24 after the fresh food provider said total revenues in the first-quarter ending in January jumped 5% from a year ago to $204.6 million.

Net income in the quarter surged 19.8% to $6.3 million or 37 cents per diluted share compared to $5.3 million or 31 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Dicks Sporting Goods Inc ((DKS)) fell 42 cents to $43.92 after the sporting goods retailer reported net sales in the fourth-quarter ending in January increased 3.7% from a year ago to $2.24 billion.

Same store sales in the quarter dropped 2.5%.

Net income in the quarter declined 17% to $129 million or $1.13 per diluted share compared to $155.5 million or $1.30 per share from the same quarter last year.

Navistar International Corp ((NAV)) tumbled 11.9% or $1.40 to $10.36 after the industrial and military trucks maker said revenues in the first-quarter ending in January plummeted 27% from a year ago to $1.77 billion.

Net loss in the quarter narrowed to $33 million or 40 cents per diluted share compared to $42 million or 52 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Saga Communications, Inc ((SGA)) jumped 5.4% or $2.15 to $42.25 after the broadcasting company stated net revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December rose 2.1% from a year ago to $35.6 million.

Net income in the quarter plunged 15.9% to $3.7 million or 63 cents per diluted share compared to $4.4 million or 76 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

York Water Co ((YORW)) gained 1.9% or 55 cents to $28.61 after the water purifiers maker said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December edged up 0.9% from a year ago to $11.6 million.

Net income in the quarter was flat at $3.5 million compared to year ago period and diluted earnings per share slid to 27 cents from 28 cents from the same quarter last year.

Thor Industries, Inc ((THO)) jumped 6.2% or $3.59 to $60 after the recreational vehicles maker reported net sales in the second-quarter ending in January soared 14.4% from a year ago to $975.1 million.

Net income in the quarter surged 56.3% to $44.7 million or 85 cents per diluted share compared to $28.6 million or 54 cents per share from the same quarter last year.

Urban Outfitters, Inc ((URBN)) surged 16.9% or $4.75 to $32.91 after the apparel and accessories retailer said total sales in the fourth-quarter ending in January were flat from a year ago at $1.01 billion.

Comparable retail segment net sales rose 2% at Free People and fell 2% at the Anthropologie Group and 3% at Urban Outfitters.

Net income in the quarter slumped 9.2% to $72.9 million or 61 cents per diluted share compared to $80.3 million or 60 cents per share from the same quarter last year.
