Sensex index in Mumbai traded lower after several infrastructure companies reported mixed earnings.
Rupee weakened 37 paisa to 65.29 against one U.S. dollar.
The Sensex Index dropped 201.62 or 0.8% to close at 27,838.14. The CNX Nifty decreased 59.45 or 0.7% to 8,111.75.

Ambuja Cements Ltd edged down 0.8% to ₹207 after the cement producer reported net in the third-quarter tumbled 35.6% from a year ago to ₹154 crore.
Total sales in the quarter decreased 4.3% to ₹2,095 crore.
Colgate Palmolive (India) Limited edged down 0.4% to ₹974.05 after the personal care products provider said net in the second-quarter soared 21.1% from a year ago to ₹156.93 crore.
Net sales in the quarter increased 3.8% to ₹1,049.23 crore.
EMCO Limited declined 4.9% to ₹25.15 after the transformer maker reported net in the second-quarter swung to a loss of ₹6.98 crore compared to profit of ₹1.10 crore in the same period last year.
Net sales in the quarter plunged 27.2% to ₹151.60 crore.
Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited plunged 9.8% to ₹162.30 after the port services provider said net in the second-quarter tumbled 40.7% from a year ago to ₹53.10 crore.
Total sales in the quarter declined 17.5% to ₹156.27 crore.
Just Dial Limited tumbled 11.4% to ₹854.75 and the online search engine said net in the second-quarter surged 47% from a year ago to ₹46.30 crore.
Net revenues in the quarter jumped 16.2% to ₹171.27 crore.
MRF Limited fell 1.2% to ₹40,748.50 after the largest tyre maker reported net in the fourth-quarter soared 45.4% from a year ago to ₹460.73 crore.
Net revenues in the quarter rose 0.9% to ₹3,329.50 crore.
NTPC Limited decreased 1.4% to ₹127.80 after the power utility provider said net in the second-quarter surged 39.9% from a year ago to ₹2,898.28 crore.
Net revenues in the quarter gained 5.3% to ₹18,173.90 crore.
Pidilite Industries Limited edged up 0.8% to ₹569 after the adhesive and paint maker reported net in the second-quarter surged 38% from a year ago to ₹191.70 crore.
Net revenues in the quarter increased 4.9% to ₹1,332.31 crore.
Raymond Limited declined 3.7% to ₹427.90 after the branded apparel retailer said net in the second-quarter plunged 86% from a year ago to ₹9 crore.
Net revenues in the quarter added 2% to ₹1,508 crore.
YES Bank Limited increased 1.9% to ₹743.50 after the financial services provider reported net in the second-quarter soared 26.9% from a year ago to ₹610.41 crore.
Net revenues in the quarter jumped 19.7% to ₹3,995.34 crore.
