Sensex in India Advances Most in 5 Weeks, LIC Increases Hindalco Stake

Stocks in Mumbai advanced and the Sensex index gained the most in five weeks.
Rupee strengthens 18 paisa to 63.55 against one U.S. dollar.
The Sensex Index advanced 200.34 or 0.7% to close at 27,316.17. The CNX Nifty increased 50.35 or 0.6% to 8,224.95.
For the week, Sensex Index soared 3.5% and CNX Nifty climbed 3.1%.

Adani Power Limited edged up 0.2% to ₹27.55 after the power generator company reported IDBI Trusteeship Services Limited acquired 6.44% shares in the company.
Bharti Airtel Limited gained 1.5% to ₹433 after the largest wireless services provider launched 4G trials in Delhi National Capital Region and offered at 3G prices.
DB Realty Limited soared 6.3% to ₹64.80 after the real estate developer signed a joint venture with ECC and Konark to develop a residential project in Andheri in suburban Mumbai.
Dish TV India Limited dropped 3.7% to 105.60 after the direct-to-home operator said a private equity investor Apollo sold its entire 4.4% stake for $75 million.
Financial Technologies (India) Ltd declined 4% to ₹155.40 and the company signed an agreement with four companies to sell 16.6% stake in Indian Energy Exchange Ltd for ₹357.06 crore.
Four companies are DCB Power, Kiran Vyapar, Agri Power and Aditya Birla Capital.
Hindalco Industries Limited rose 0.4% to ₹120.55 after the aluminium and copper producer reported that the Life Insurance Company raised its stake to around 13% in the company.
Larsen & Toubro Limited edged up 0.3% to ₹1719.15 after the infrastructure developer secured an order worth ₹2,278 crore at various business in May and June.
Suprajit Engineering Limited jumped 2.9% to ₹129 after the cable maker acquired 51% stake in Utter Pradesh-based Phoenix Lamps Ltd.
