Exxon Mobile Net Drops 21%, Tenneco Sales Ease

Earnings Review

1-800-Flowers.Com Inc ((FLWS)) surged 12% or 95 cents to $8.84 after the florist and gift provider said total revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December more than doubled to $534.3 million a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter soared 154.4% to $45.8 million or 68 cents a diluted share compared to $18 million or 27 cents from the same quarter last year.

Avery Dennison Corp ((AVY)) rose 17 cents to $52.44 after the packaging material maker stated net sales in the fourth-quarter ending on January 3 increased 1.3% to $1.60 billion a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter jumped 66% to $70.9 million or 76 cents a diluted share compared to $42.7 million or 43 cents from the same quarter last year.

Exxon Mobil Corporation ((XOM)) gained 1.4% or $1.20 to $88.60 after the energy explorer and distributor reported total revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December declined 21.3% to $87.3 billion a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter plunged 21.3% to $6.57 billion or $1.56 a diluted share compared to $8.35 billion or $1.91 from the same quarter last year.

Lennox International Inc ((LII)) jumped 2.5% or $2.44 to $100.75 after the climate control solution provider said net sales in the fourth-quarter ending in December climbed 8.4% to $812.8 million a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter soared 26.7% to $44.6 million or 96 cents a diluted share compared to $35.2 million or 70 cents from the same quarter last year.

Old National Bancorp ((ONB)) dropped 2.3% or 31 cents to $13.10 after the financial service provider stated net interest income in the fourth-quarter ending in December advanced 13% to $97.3 million a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter climbed 19.1% to $29.3 million compared to $24.5 million and diluted earnings per share in the quarter were flat at 25 cents from the same quarter last year.

Tenneco Inc ((TEN)) climbed 5.6% or $2.88 to $54.30 after the clean air and ride performance products producer said total revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in December fell 1.5% to $2 billion a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter plummeted 61.1% to $21 million or 33 cents a diluted share compared to $54 million or 88 cents from the same quarter last year.

Sysco Corporation ((SYY)) slipped 1.6% or 64 cents or $38.53 after the foodservice provider reported sales in the second-quarter ending on December 27 jumped 7.6% to $12.1 billion a year ago period.

Net income in the quarter tumbled 25.1% to $158 million or 27 cents a diluted share compared to $210.8 billion or 36 cents from the same quarter last year.

The company today announces to divest certain assets to Performance Food Group contingent upon the closing of its proposed merger with US Foods.
