EnBW Divests Wind Farm Stake, Persimmon Revenues Soars

[R]4:00 PM Frankfurt – Boohoo.com tumbled 40% on weak outlook. EnBW Energie agreed to sell 49.9% stake worth €720 million to Macquarie Capital. Sainsbury third-quarter sales fell. Persimmon revenues climbed 23% to £2.6 billion.[/R]

In London trading, FTSE 100 index climbed 1.2% or 77.84 to 6,444.35 and in Frankfurt the DAX index gained 1% or 95.55 to 9,565.21.

In Paris, CAC 40 index jumped 1.3% or 52.68 to 4,136.18.

Aggreko Plc jumped 2.9% to 1,479.90 pence after the U.K.-based power generator company secured new two-year contracts to supply an additional 150 megawatt diesel-fuelled power to Energia Argentina SA.

Separately, the company revealed that it also won a three-year extension to a contract in Ivory Coast.

Boohoo.com Plc tumbled 40.2% to 22.88 pence after the U.K.-based online fashion retailer forecasted earnings of the year may drop to below estimates.

EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG dropped 2.5% to €25.10 after the Germany-based energy transmission company agreed to sell 49.9% stake of 32 kilometers domestic offshore wind farm to Australia-based Macquarie Capital in a deal worth €720 million or $857 million.

J Sainsbury Plc dropped 1.9% to 230.30 pence after the U.K.-based supermarkets and convenience store operator said total sales in the third-quarter fell 0.4% and comparable store sales declined 1.7%.

The retailer reduced product prices for about 1,000 popular products totaling £150 million.

Persimmon Plc gained 1.3% to 1,548.59 pence after the U.K.-based home-builder reported revenues in the year ending in December climbed 23% to £2.6 billion from £2.1 billion a year ago period.

The company said average selling price jumped 5% to £190,500 compared to £180,941 and legal completion of new homes soared 17% to 13,509 units in the same period a year ago.
