Clariant Sells Mumbai Land to Lodha

Atul Auto sales in December rose 5.64%. Clariant Chemicals sold its land parcel worth Rs. 1,102.50 crore to Lodha Group. Eicher sales of its subsidiary climbed 20.7%. Maruti sales in December soared 20.8%. Steel Strips December sales jumped 18%.

Indian rupee gained slightly to close at 63.35 against one dollar.

The Sensex Index rose 8.12 to close at 27,507.54. The CNX Nifty added 1.30 to 8,284.

The Sensex index in 2014 gained 29.9%, third annual increase in a row after investors bid up stocks on the expectations of faster and deeper reforms after the election of Narendra Modi government.

Gainers & Losers

Atul Auto Ltd. advanced 2.2% to Rs 690.50 after the automobile product maker said total sales rose 5.64% to 3,708 units compared to 3,510 units a same period last year.

Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited climbed 12.3% to Rs 972.65 after the specialty chemical maker sold its land parcel located in Kolshet, Thane worth Rs. 1,102.50 crore to Lodha Group.

Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited jumped 6.8% to Rs 229.90 after the power transmission company secured new orders worth Rs 560 crore.

Eicher Motors Limited rose 0.8% to Rs 15,231 after the auto maker reported December total sales of its subsidiary climbed 20.7% to 3,387 units from a year ago period.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited added 4% to Rs 3,341.50 after the automaker said total sales in December soared 20.8% to 109,791 units compared to 90,924 units a year ago period.

Muthoot Finance Limited soared 11.4% to Rs 214.15 after the financial service provider agreed to acquire 51% stake in Colombo-based Asia Asset Finance Plc.

Saksoft Limited surged 20% to Rs 159.60 after the business solution provider signed an agreement to acquire 51% stake in ThreeSixty Logica Testing.

Steel Strips Wheels Limited jumped 2.4% to Rs 351.70 after the wheel rim maker said December total wheel rim sales jumped 18% to 10.10 lacs from a year ago period.
