Pharma Earnings in India Rise, Bank of Baroda Net Falls

The Sensex Index fell 47.25 or 0.2% to close at 27,868.63. The CNX Nifty slid 1.30 or 0.02% to 8,337.
For the week, Sensex climbed 2.9% and CNX Nifty jumped 3.1%.
Gainers & Losers
Aurobindo Pharma Limited, added 2.2% to Rs 1,024 and the natural and ayurvedic medicine maker said net in the second-quarter surged 58.4% to Rs 372.18 crore and total revenue soared 51.6% to Rs 2,908.51 crore.
Bank of Baroda Limited rose 0.8% to Rs 960.60 after the financial service provider said net in the second-quarter fell 5.6% to Rs 1,104.22 crore and revenue climbed 13.1% to Rs 11,817.32 crore.
Bata India Limited, the largest footwear retailer slipped 2.3% to Rs 1,244.15 after net in the third-quarter rose 3.8% to Rs 39 crore and total revenue gained 13.2% to Rs 558.53 crore.
Bharat Electronics Limited surged 8% to Rs 2,231.55 and maker of electronic products said net in the second-quarter soared 147.2% to Rs 146.96 crore and revenue climbed 21.7% to Rs 1,404.66 crore.
Cadila Healthcare Limited, the pharmaceutical company gained 5.2% to Rs 1,490 after net in the second-quarter soared 52% to Rs 278 crore and total revenue jumped 21% to Rs 2,108 crore.
Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited jumped 3.6% to Rs 1,775.60 and the personal care products maker said net in the second-quarter climbed 18.3% to Rs 129.58 crore and net revenue increased 10.6% to Rs 1,010.44 crore.
Pfizer Limited, the pharmaceutical products maker dropped 2.9% to Rs 1,656.40 after the company reported net in the second-quarter swung to loss Rs 11.83 crore compared to a profit of Rs 69.59 crore in the year ago period.
Total revenue fell 0.8% to Rs 296.48 crore.
Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited gained 2.2% to Rs 942.05 and the generic pharmaceutical products said net in the second-quarter surged 75% to Rs 198 crore and net revenue climbed 21% to Rs 1,271 crore.
United Bank Of India, the bank soared 4.8% to Rs 45.15 after the government controlled bank reported net in the second-quarter swung to profit Rs 43.80 crore compared to a loss of Rs 489.47 crore in the year ago period.
Net revenue slid 1.4% to Rs 2,835.36 crore.
