ACC quarterly profit surged 62%. Castrol India net rose 13%. Emami profit climbed 16%. ICICI Bank net and revenue soared 15%. Maruti Suzuki net jumped 29% on 18% increase in revenues. Mphasis and Tech Mahindra net rose. YES Bank profit soared 30%.

The Sensex Index climbed 248.16 or 0.9% to close at 27,346.33. The CNX Nifty rose 78.75 or 0.9% to 8,169.20.

Gainers & Losers

ACC Limited rose 0.7% to Rs 1,494.70 after the cement producer reported net in the third-quarter surged 61.9% to Rs 192.60 crore and sales advanced 9.4% to Rs 2,741.87 crore.

Castrol India Limited, the lubricants maker fell 0.6% to Rs 412.30 after net in the third-quarter rose 12.8% to Rs 117.90 crore and net revenue gained 10.1% to Rs 813.80 crore.

Emami Limited, the healthcare products maker surged 5.5% to Rs 801 after net in the second-quarter climbed 16% to Rs 92.76 crore and total revenue jumped 18.6% to Rs 801.83 crore.

ICICI Bank Limited increased 0.5% to Rs 1,611.50 after the operator of a private sector bank said net in the second-quarter surged 15.2% to Rs 2,709.01 crore and net revenue climbed 14.7% to Rs 14,888.95 crore.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the automaker advanced 1.1% to Rs 3,242.15 after net in the second-quarter soared 28.7% to Rs 862.54 crore and total revenue jumped 18.2% to Rs 12,497.03 crore.

Mphasis Limited slipped 1.3% to Rs 408.10 after the software services provider said net in the second-quarter added 8.4% to Rs 160.20 crore and revenue increased 1.7% to Rs 1,464.87 crore.

Tech Mahindra Limited, the information technology jumped 3.5% to Rs 2,480.15 after net in the second-quarter rose 14.1% to Rs 720 crore and revenue increased 7.2% to Rs 5,488 crore.

YES Bank, Ltd., the operator of private sector bank climbed 3.8% to Rs 662.70 after net in the second-quarter surged 30% to Rs 482.54 crore and net revenues jumped 13.3% to Rs 3,337.97 crore.
