Asian Paints quarterly profit rose 6%. BASF India and GNFC reported quarterly net swung to loss. Cairn India profit declined 33%. Kotak Mahindra net rose 23%. SKF India net jumped 26%. Wipro quarterly profit and revenue rose 8%.

The Sensex Index climbed 211.58 or 0.8% to close at 26,787.23 The CNX Nifty rose 68.15 or 0.9% to 7,995.90.

Gainers & Losers

Asian Paints Limited slid 0.5% to Rs 641.75 after net in the second-quarter advanced 6.2% to Rs 347.30 crore and total revenue climbed 16.5% to Rs 3,680.92 crore.

BASF India Limited tumbled 3.9% to Rs 1,196.45 after the company reported net in the second-quarter swung to loss Rs 19.95 crore compared to a profit of Rs 33.37 crore. Revenue in the quarter climbed 14.2% to Rs 1,208.84.

Cairn India Limited gained 3.9% to Rs 288.95 after net in the second-quarter plunged 33% to Rs 2,278 crore and net revenue dropped 14% to Rs 3,982 crore.

Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited added 1.9% to Rs 732 after net in the second-quarter surged 89.8% to Rs 106.41 crore and revenue soared 81.1% to Rs 1,275.92 crore.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited slipped 3.9% to Rs 85.30 after the company saidnet in the second-quarter swung to a loss Rs 30.37 crore compared to a profit of Rs 74.67 crore. Net sales in the quarter rose 83% to Rs 1,293.58.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited climbed 4.9% to Rs 1,064.30 after net in the second-quarter soared 23.2% to Rs 717.93 crore and net revenue surged 33.1% to Rs 4,920.40 crore.

SKF India Limited jumped 2.7% to Rs 1,122 after net in the third-quarter gained 25.9% to Rs 58.65 crore and total revenue increased 7.5% to Rs 632.79 crore.

Wipro Limited advanced 1.5% to Rs 581.70 after net in the second-quarter rose 8% to Rs 2,085 crore and total revenue surged 8% to Rs 11,680 crore.
