HDFC, Idea Net Climb; Shriram Transport Net Declines

HDFC Bank net surged 20% and Punjab National Bank net climbed 14%. Shriram Transport net slipped 12%. Idea Cellular reported quarterly net rose 4%. Welspun quarterly net swung to profit on 10% increase in sales.

The Sensex Index jumped 145.80 or 0.6% to close at 26,575.65 The CNX Nifty gained 48.35 or 0.6% to 7,927.75.

Gainers & Losers

HDFC Bank Limited rose 0.1% to Rs 895.90 after net in the second-quarter jumped 20.1% to Rs 2,381.46 crore and total revenue climbed 16.4% to Rs 13,894.73 crore.

Idea Cellular Limited gained 0.3% to Rs 161.50 after net in the second-quarter increased 3.8% to Rs 755.90 crore and net revenue rose 0.11% to Rs 7,569.90 crore.

Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited dropped 1.3% to Rs 217.30 after net in the second-quarter surged 481% to Rs 32.65 crore and total revenue soared 54% to Rs 178.60 crore.

Punjab National Bank dropped 2.6% to Rs 931.50 after net in the second-quarter rose 13.8% to Rs 575.34 crore and revenues gained 11.9% to Rs 13,020.46 crore.

Shriram Transport Finance Company, Ltd. slipped 2.5% to Rs 900.30 after net in the second-quarter declined 11.9% to Rs 310.04 crore and net sales increased 7.5% to Rs 2,261.24 crore.

South Indian Bank Limited declined 3.8% to Rs 25.40 after net in the second-quarter surged 39.8% to Rs 76.30 crore and net revenue advanced 7.6% to Rs 1,405.95 crore.

Welspun Corp Ltd. slid 0.8% to Rs 77.35 after the company reported net in the second-quarter swung to profit Rs 5.25 crore compared to a loss of Rs 33.77 crore. Sales in the quarter rose 9.3% to Rs 2,425.30.
