The Sensex Index fell 59.23 or 0.2% to close at 27,026.70 The CNX Nifty slid 9.10 to 8,086.85. For the week, Sensex gained 1.4%.

Gainers & Losers

JSW Steel Limited climbed 2.3% to Rs 1,309.65 after the company reported crude steel production in August surged 13% to 11.16 million tons from 9.85 million tons in the year-ago period.

The company added production of rolled products-flat jumped 7% to 8.80 million tons compared to 8.24 million tons a year ago month.

Infosys Ltd increased 0.6% to Rs 3,730.30 after the software exporter was selected by the U.K.-based BP Plc to provide application support and development.

Larsen & Toubro Limited gained 1.3% to Rs 1,609.25 after the company won order worth Rs 5,100 crore from the Madhya Pradesh state utility to set up two plants of 660 megawatt each.

Suven Life Sciences Ltd surged 20% to Rs 208.95 after the company received one product patent in one each country from South Korea, China and Canada valid through 2029, 2029 and 2031, respectively.

Tech Mahindra Ltd rose 0.03% to Rs 2,465.55 after the company secured an engineering solutions order from Canada based aerospace and transportation company Bombardier.

Wipro Limited gained 0.9% to Rs 581.95 after the company secured contract from the U.S.-based Philip Morris International Inc to provide server, storage and backup and applications infrastructure services.
