ONGC Net Soars 19%; GMR Infra, Gammon India Net Loss Widen

GMR Infra and Gammon India net loss widened. Hindalco net declined 31%. IL&FS net surged 77%. Jyothy Lab profit soared 80% and revenue surged 112%. Nalco profit soared 70%. ONGC net and revenue advanced. Voltas profit surged 67%. West Coast Paper net climbed 38%.

The Sensex Index jumped 184.28 or 0.7% to close at 26,103.23 The CNX Nifty increased 52.15 to 7,791.70.

Gainers & Losers

GMR Infrastructure Ltd jumped 2.6% to Rs 25.55 after net loss in the first-quarter widened to Rs 593.20 crore from Rs 326.03 crore and revenue rose 4% to Rs 2,796.37 crore.

Gammon India Limited rose 1.8% to Rs 33.05 after net loss in the first-quarter widened to Rs 120.27 crore compared to Rs 49.95 crore and net sales declined 24.1% to Rs 922.82 crore.

Hindalco Industries Ltd slipped 0.8% to Rs 178.50 after net profit in the first-quarter declined 31% to Rs 327 crore and revenue soared 36.9% to Rs 7,996 crore.

IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd climbed 6.2% to Rs 211.80 after net profit in the first-quarter surged 76.9% to Rs 188.57 crore and revenues rose 2.7% to Rs 710.61 crore.

Jyothy Laboratories, Ltd gained 1% to Rs 189.45 after net profit in the first-quarter jumped 80.3% to Rs 51.76 crore and net revenue climbed 112% to Rs 354.89 crore.

National Aluminium Company Limited climbed 3.3% to Rs 56.55 after net profit in the first-quarter soared 69.7% to Rs 270.99 crore and total revenues jumped 7.5% to Rs 1,870.40 crore.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited increased 2% to Rs 409.95 after net profit in the first-quarter advanced 19.1% to Rs 4,781.79 crore and total revenue soared 10.9% to Rs 22,746.45 crore.

Voltas Limited surged 8.4% to Rs 220.75 after net profit in the first-quarter climbed 165.8% to Rs 109 crore and sales jumped 9.4% to Rs 1,752 crore.

Whirlpool Of India Ltd soared 10% to Rs 412.55 after net profit in the first-quarter surged 67.4% to Rs 83 crore and total revenues climbed 19.5% to Rs 1,052.24 crore.

West Coast Paper Mills Ltd jumped 4.9% to Rs 58.30 after net profit in the first-quarter soared 38.5% to Rs 10.25 crore and net sales surged 17.6% to Rs 393.85 crore.
