ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Torrent Net Soar; NTPC Net Plunges

Aban Offshore net doubled. ICICI Bank profit soared 17%. Maruti Suzuki net jumped 21% on 12% increase of sales. NTPC net plunged 13% but sales soared 15%. Mahindra Lifespace net and revenue surged. Torrent Pharma net climbed 72%.

The Sensex Index dropped 192.45 or 0.7% to close at 25,894.97 The CNX Nifty slipped 70.10 to 7,721.30. For the month, Sensex increased 1.4%.

Gainers & Losers

Aban Offshore Ltd jumped 2.6% to Rs 770.85 after net profit in the first-quarter surged 104.3% to Rs 152.69 crore and total revenue climbed 15.7% to Rs 1,027.78 crore.

ICICI Bank Ltd slipped 1.1% to Rs 1,473 after net profit in the first-quarter soared 16.7% to Rs 2,655.30 crore and total revenue climbed 13.3% to Rs 14,616.71 crore.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd dropped 1.1% to Rs 2,524.50 after net profit in the first-quarter jumped 20.7% to Rs 762.28 crore and total sales surged 11.7% to Rs 11,666.17 crore.

NTPC Limited declined 3% to Rs 145 after net profit in the first-quarter plunged 12.9% to Rs 2,201.20 crore and total sales soared 15.2% to Rs 18,885.14 crore.

Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd surged 9.1% to Rs 603.95 after net profit in the first-quarter soared 723.7% to Rs 179.31 crore and total revenue advanced 138.5% to Rs 436.55 crore.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd gained 1.1% to Rs 744.10 after net profit in the first-quarter climbed 72% to Rs 256 crore and revenues jumped 15% to Rs 1,114 crore.
