The Sensex Index climbed 337.58 or 1.4% to close at 25,368.90 The CNX Nifty jumped 86.85 to 7,580.20.

Gainers & Losers

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd gained 0.8% to Rs 238.20 and the company completed the acquisition of Dhamra Port Company from L&T Infrastructure Development Projects and Tata Steel.

Ahluwalia Contracts India Ltd climbed 4.2% to Rs 104.30 after the company’s board approved the issue of shares to the promoters on a preferential basis.

Bajaj Hindusthan Ltd soared 6.6% to Rs 31.45 and the company redeemed foreign currency convertible bonds worth $15 million.

IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd climbed 4.9% to Rs 216.40 after the company secured a highway expansion project in Haryana worth Rs.2,300 crore.

National Building Construction Corp jumped 4.4% to Rs 318.45 after the company said it was granted ""Navratna Status"" by Department of Public Enterprises.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited rose 0.6% to Rs 132.40 after the company''s board approved investments of more than Rs 5,500 crore in Chhattisgarh.

Steel Authority of India Limited increased 2.5% to Rs 95.45 after the company intends to exit Rs 35,000 crore Sindri fertiliser project in Jharkhand.
