The Sensex Index edged up 3.48 to close at 25,583.69 The CNX Nifty inched up 1.80 to 7,656.40.

Gainers & Losers

Eros International Media Limited declined 4.2% to Rs 220 after the company agreed to acquire controlling stake in Universal Power System Ltd a telecom operator service provider for an undisclosed amount.

Geometric Ltd jumped 3.4% to Rs 146.45 after the company signed an application maintenance contract with Sweden-based AB Volvo.

Hero Motocorp Ltd dropped 2.3% to Rs 2,662.60 on the worries of impact of weak monsoon on rural demand for two-wheelers.

HDFC Bank Limited slid 0.3% to Rs 817.45 after the bank partly exited it’s the bonds issued by Reliance Ports & Terminals, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries.

SpiceJet Limited climbed 3.7% to Rs 20.85 after the company launched promotional fares starting from Rs 1,999 on booking made before June 12 for travel between July 11 and September 30.

Supreme Tex Mart Ltd declined 3.5% to Rs 6.06 after net in the fourth-quarter swung to a loss of Rs 11.80 crore compared to profit of Rs 3.10 crore and sales tumbled 42.3% to Rs 167.50 crore.

Tata Power Company Limited fell 1% to Rs 112.50 after the company’s renewable energy capacity rose to 1,170 mega watt with the commissioning of its 28.8 mega watt solar plant at Palaswadi, Maharashtra.
