BHEL net and revenue plunged. Cipla profit dropped 6%. DLF net swung to profit. L&T net surged 69%. M&M profit edged up. ONGC net surged 44%. Power Grid Corp profit jumped. Sun Pharma profit soared 57%. Tata Chemicals net loss widened and Tata Motor net rose 0.7%.

The Sensex Index slid 16.81 to close at 24,217.34 The CNX Nifty fell 5.70 to 7,229.95. For the week, Sensex dropped 1.9%.

Gainers & Losers

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited slid 0.5% to Rs 242.15 after net profit in the fourth-quarter declined 43.02% to Rs 1,844.59 crore and total revenue plunged 21.4% to Rs 15,320.38 crore.

For the year, net profit tumbled 47.7% to Rs 3,460.78 crore and total revenue dropped 17.8% to Rs 40,724.86 crore.

Cipla Limited jumped 3% to Rs 384.15 after net profit in the fourth-quarter dropped 6% to Rs 261 crore and sales surged 27% to Rs 2,429 crore.

For the year, net profit declined 10.1% to Rs 1,388.41 crore and total sales surged 21.9% to Rs 10,365.76 crore.

The pharmaceutical company said domestic sales in the quarter jumped 19.3% to Rs 908 crore and exports of formulations climbed 30% to Rs 1,282 crore.

DLF Limited gained 2.9% to Rs 209.80 after the company reported net profit in the fourth-quarter was Rs 219.68 crore from a loss of Rs 4.19 crore and revenues dropped 11.5% to Rs 1,969.45 crore.

Larsen & Toubro Limited fell 0.1% to Rs 1,548.90 after net profit in the fourth-quarter surged 69.1% to Rs 2,723 crore and revenue jumped 11% to Rs 20,229 crore.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited climbed 4.4% to Rs 1,230.50 after net profit in the fourth-quarter rose 0.9% to Rs 896.90 crore and revenue grew 3.5% to Rs 11,764.70 crore.

For the year, net profit jumped 12% to Rs 3,758.35 crore and revenue was flat at Rs 39,963.36 crore from Rs 39903.36 crore.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited rose 0.9% to Rs 378.25 after net profit in the fourth-quarter surged 44.3% to Rs 4,889 crore and revenue fell 2.3% to Rs 21,403 crore.

For the year, net profit jumped 5.6% to Rs 22,095 crore and revenue increased 1.1% to Rs 84,201 crore.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited dropped 2.5% to Rs 121.75 after net profit in the fourth-quarter jumped 5.99% to Rs 1,175.84 crore and net sales soared 16.6% to Rs 3,934.06 crore.

For the year, net profit rose 6.2% to Rs 4,497.42 crore and net sales surged 19.2% to Rs 15,152.74 crore.

Redington India Ltd jumped 5.8% to Rs 104.55 after net profit in the fourth-quarter climbed 7.8% to Rs 113.05 crore and total revenues jumped 19.2% to Rs 8,115.39 crore.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited climbed 3.4% to Rs 607.40 after net profit in the fourth-quarter soared 56.8% to Rs 1,587 crore and sales surged 32% to Rs 4,044 crore.

Tata Chemicals Limited declined 3.6% to Rs 303.45 after the company reported net loss in the fourth-quarter soared to Rs 1,225.72 crore from Rs 188.03 crore and revenue climbed 11% to 11.01% to Rs 3,695.03 crore.

Tata Motors Limited slipped 1.9% to Rs 415.45 after net profit in the fourth-quarter rose 0.7% to Rs 3,918 crore and revenue soared 16.6% to Rs 65,317 crore.

For the year, net profit surged 41.4% to Rs 13,991 crore and revenue surged 23.3% to Rs 2,32,834 crore.
