Hewlett-Packard, Nordson Advance; Buckle, Dollar Tree Drop

The Buckle, Inc ((BKE)) slipped 2.1% or 96 cents to $45.12 after the retailer reported total revenue in the first-quarter ending on May 3 rose 0.7% to $271.7 million. Comparable store sales in the quarter decreased 0.9%.

Net income in the quarter nearly flat at $37.3 million or 78 cents a diluted share compared to $37.6 million or 78 cents.

The Children''s Place Retail Stores, Inc ((PLCE)) rose 5 cents to $47.74 after the specialty retailer said total revenue in the first-quarter ending on May 3 dropped 3.7% to $410.1 million. Comparable store sales in the quarter slipped 3.6%.

Net income in the quarter plunged 29.5% to $13.6 million or 61 cents a diluted share compared to $19.3 million or 83 cents.

Dollar Tree, Inc. ((DLTR)) fell 41 cents to $52.90 after the discount store stated net sales in the first-quarter ending on May 3 climbed 7.2% to $2 billion. Comparable store sales in the quarter increased 2%.

Net income in the quarter slipped 3.4% to $138.3 million or 67 cents a diluted share compared to $133.5 million or 59 cents.

Hewlett-Packard Company ((HPQ)) jumped 6.1% or $1.95 to $33.74 after the electronic testing equipment and systems maker stated total revenue in the second-quarter ending in April decreased 1% to $27.3 billion.

Net earnings in the quarter climbed 18% to $1.3 billion or 66 cents a diluted share compared to $1.1 billion or 55 cents.

Nordson Corporation ((NDSN)) climbed 7.9% or $5.97 to $80.85 after the testing equipment maker reported sales in the second-quarter ending in April jumped 9% to $417 million.

Net income in the quarter jumped 3.4% to $61.9 million or 96 cents a diluted share compared to $54.6 million or 84 cents.

Sears Holdings Corp ((SHLD)) slid 29 cents to $37.81 after the specialty retail store operator said revenue in the first-quarter ending on May 3 dropped to $7.88 billion.

Net loss in the quarter widened to $402 million or $3.79 a diluted share compared to $279 million or $2.63.
