Ashok Leyland net climbed but sales plunged. Asian Star net jumped 65%. Colgate profit and revenue climbed. GSPL profit plunged 43%. ITC net soared 18%. Jain Irrigation net climbed 95%. JK Lakshmi Cement surged 59%.

The Sensex Index climbed 318.95 or 1.3% to close at 24,693.35 The CNX Nifty gained 90.70 to 7,367.10. For the week, the Sensex jumped 2.4%.

Gainers & Losers

Ashok Leyland Limited surged 13.7% to Rs 32.85 after net profit in the fourth-quarter climbed 142.2% to Rs 363.39 crore but net sales plunged 17.3% to Rs 3,092.51 crore.

For the year, net tumbled 93.2% to Rs 29.38 crore and sales declined 20.2% Rs 10,009.94 crore.

Asian Star Co Ltd climbed 5% to Rs 714 after net profit in the fourth-quarter jumped 65.04% to Rs 13.17 crore and sales soared 28.4% to Rs 712.47 crore.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited rose 0.8% to Rs 1,373.85 after net profit in the fourth-quarter jumped 7.4% to Rs 132.30 crore and total revenues climbed 10.4% to Rs 931.22 crore.

For the year, net increased 8.7% to Rs 539.87 crore and total revenues surged 12.9% to Rs 3,629.13 crore.

Gujarat State Petronet Limited dropped 2% to Rs 79.60 after net profit in the fourth-quarter plunged 43.3% to Rs 91.46 crore and total revenues plummeted 34.4% to Rs 245.92 crore.

ITC Limited slid 0.8% to Rs 342.15 after net profit in the fourth-quarter soared 18.2% to Rs 2,278.01 crore and revenue surged 11.2% to Rs 9,238.52 crore.

For the year, net profit climbed 18.4% to Rs 8,785.21 crore and revenue increased 11.4% to Rs 34,345.74 crore.

IG Petrochemicals Ltd soared 20% to Rs 37.40 after net in the fourth-quarter swung to profit Rs 14.17 crore compared to a loss of Rs 20.37 crore and revenue jumped 52.1% to Rs 363.70 crore.

Jain Irrigation Systems Limited soared 10.6% to Rs 122.30 after net profit in the fourth-quarter climbed 94.8% to Rs 81.61 crore and total sales surged 12% to Rs 1,353.98 crore.

JK Lakshmi Cement Limited jumped 3.3% to Rs 178.05 after net profit in the fourth-quarter surged 59% to Rs 52.91 crore and total sales climbed 21% to Rs 721.55 crore.

Munjal Showa Limited plunged 7.4% to Rs 104.50 after net profit in the fourth-quarter dropped 15.7% to Rs 18.85 crore and net sales jumped 4.9% to Rs 416.90 crore.
