Alstom T&D net climbed 17%. Bharti Airtel net and sales surged. BASF India net tumbled 51% but sales soared. CEAT net fell 4%. Kotak Mahindra profit dropped 7%. Shriram Transport Finance net declined 18%. Welspun net surged.

The Sensex Index fell 48.39 or 0.2% to close at 22,417.80. The CNX Nifty slid 18.85 to close at 6,696.40. For the month, Sensex increased 0.4%.

Gainers & Losers

Alstom T&D India Limited closed unchanged at Rs 274.75 after net profit in the fourth-quarter climbed 17.3% to Rs 62.24 crore and total sales soared 19.3% to Rs 1,313.09 crore.

Bharti Airtel Limited dropped 2.2% to Rs 327.65 after net profit in the fourth-quarter surged 89.1% to Rs 962 crore and total revenue climbed 13.5% to Rs 22,219 crore.

For the year, net profit jump 21.8% to Rs 2,773 crore and revenues jumped 11.5% to Rs 85,746 crore.

The wireless carrier said customer base in the year climbed to 295.9 million from 271.2 million a year ago.

BASF India Ltd plunged 4.7% to Rs 747.50 after net profit in the fourth-quarter tumbled 50.8% to Rs 6.56 crore and net sales surged 30.3% to Rs 1,067.32 crore.

CEAT Limited declined 4.9% to Rs 388.55 after net profit in the fourth-quarter fell 3.9% to Rs 62.42 crore and total revenues increased 7.9% to Rs 1,457.58 crore.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited slid 0.5% to Rs 803.25 after net profit in the fourth-quarter dropped 6.6% to Rs 407.18 crore and total revenue rose 0.7% to Rs 2,552.96 crore.

For the year, net profit climbed 12.6% to Rs 2,464.99 crore and total revenues jumped 8.3% to Rs 17,235.63 crore.

The bank said loans in the year increased 8.2% to Rs 71,693 crore from Rs 66,258 crore.

Marico Limited rose 0.3% to Rs 203.65 after net profit in the fourth-quarter jumped 8% to Rs 89 crore and sales climbed 17% to Rs 1,072 crore.

Oriental Bank of Commerce fell 0.8% to Rs 247.55 after net profit in the fourth-quarter rose 0.8% to Rs 310.32 crore and total revenue soared 13.2% to Rs 5,655.36 crore.

Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd slipped 1.8% to Rs 733.45 after net profit in the fourth-quarter declined 17.9% to Rs 314.89 crore and total revenue jumped 12.7% to Rs 2,150.04 crore.

Swaraj Engines Limited surged 6.1% to Rs 721.50 after net profit in the fourth-quarter soared 25.3% to Rs 17.46 crore and net sales climbed 39.7% to Rs 158.27 crore.

Welspun Corp Ltd jumped 2% to Rs 81.55 after net profit in the fourth-quarter climbed 294.9% to Rs 98.25 crore and sales declined 25.7% to Rs 1,192.51 crore.
