The Sensex Index fell 42.42 or 0.2% to close at 22,509.07. The CNX Nifty slipped 16.45 to close at 6,736.10.
Gainers & Losers
Ashok Leyland Limited slid 0.8% to Rs 23.30 after the company bagged a contract worth $50 million from the Ministry of Tourism, Zimbabwe to supply 670 vehicles.
Hindustan Motors Limited dropped 2.7% to Rs 7.51 after the company said total vehicle sales in March tumbled 73.9% to 232 units.
The company said passenger vehicle sales plunged 73.2% to 229 units and sales of light commercial vehicle Winner dropped 90.6% to 3 units.
Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd jumped 3% to Rs 97.90 after the company achieved record production of 20,650 megavolt ampere for the fiscal year 2014 compared to 13,217 megavolt ampere.
Venus Remedies Ltd surged 6% to Rs 264.15 after the company received an approval to market meropenem antibiotic in Venezuela.
Unitech Limited gained 1.6% to Rs 14.56 after the company said it has been approached by a third party for its stake in Candor Investment.
