The Sensex Index gained 67.13 or 0.3% to close at 21,276.86. The CNX Nifty rose 30.70 to close at 6,328.65.

Gainers & Losers

Autoline Industries Ltd surged 7.7% to Rs 69.65 after the board scheduled a meeting on March 11 to raise capital and also look for ways to sell its U.S. subsidiary.

Alstom India Ltd climbed 6.6% to Rs 349.50 after the power generator maker secured contract worth €85 million by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited to supply two boilers of 800 megawatt.

GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited plunged 7.2% to Rs 2,747.85 after the U.K.-based parent’s open offer to acquire additional stake in the Indian company ends today.

Punjab National Bank climbed 4.5% to Rs 591.50 after the bank sold its entire stake in Credit Information Bureau India to TransUnion International Inc.

Reliance Communications Ltd fell 0.6% to Rs 110.85 after the Bharti Infratel entered into a tower sharing pact with Reliance Industries.

Tata Consultancy Services Limited rose 0.3% to Rs 2,249.90 after the company singed partnership with Microsoft Business Solutions to develop online versions of Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management.

UPL Limited jumped 2.6% to Rs 187.20 after the company increased its stake in Brazilian firm UPL do Brasil from 51% to 73%.

UPL''s net profit in the third-quarter surged 28.1% to Rs 222.24 crore and net sales soared 15.5% to Rs 2,604.71 crore.
