The Sensex Index gained 133.13 or 0.6 to close at 21,120.12. The CNX Nifty gained 38.15 to close at 6,276.95.

Atul Auto Limited climbed 5% to Rs 296.60 after the company said total vehicle sales in February surged 18.9% to 3,105 units.
Bajaj Auto Limited slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,913.65 after the company reported total vehicle sales dropped 6% to 3,13,294 units from 3,32,387 units sold a year ago.
Exports in February jumped 5% to 1,42,009 units from 1,35,149 units and motorcycle sales declined 6% to 2,73,323 units compared to 2,91,297 units last year.
HT Media Limited dropped 2.1% to Rs 75.85 after private investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala bought 15,00,000 shares in the company.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd slid 0.3% to Rs 1,581.75 after the company said domestic sales in February grew 1.8% to 99,758 units and total sales fell 0.4% to 1,09,104 units.
The company added export in the month plummeted 19.5% to 9,346 units from 11,612 units a year ago.
The car-maker plans to source cars from a plant to be built by its parent Suzuki Motor in Gujarat together in addition to its facilities in Manesar and Gurgaon.
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited dropped 2.2% to Rs 951.85 after the company said its total auto sales in February declined 12% to 42,166 units.
The company said domestic sales slipped 11% to 39,338 units and commercial vehicle segment sales fell 3% to 14,701 units.
Passenger vehicle segment, including UVs and Verito fell 18% to 19,308 units and total tractor sales jumped 18% to 17,592 units. Domestic tractor sales climbed 19% to 16,552 units.
Exports in February plunged 17% to 2,828 units.
Monsanto India Limited surged 10% to Rs 1,613.25 after the Union ministry of environment approved field trials of genetically modified food crops on a conditional basis.
Tata Motors Limited slumped 1.5% to Rs 410.65 after the company said total vehicle sales in February plunged 35.6% to 39,951 units.
Tata Motors'' domestic passenger vehicle sales jumped 6.7% to 11,325 units while sales of commercial vehicles tumbled 49.4% to 23,990 units but total exports in February climbed 16.02% to 4,636 units.
TVS Motor Company Limited gained 1.9% to Rs 87.55 after the company said its total sales in February jumped 7% to 1,77,000 units.
The company said total exports surged 31% to 28,782 units and exports of motorcycle soared 26% to 22,713 units. Domestic sales increased 3% to 1,47,000 units.
Scooters sales climbed 37% to 41,990 units and motorcycles sales grew by 3% to 62,762 units.
