The Sensex Index jumped 256.61 or 1.2% to close at 21,289.49. The CNX Nifty advanced 79.05 to close at 6,320.90.

Gainers & Losers

Bajaj Finance Ltd edged up 0.05% to Rs 1,548.05 after net profit in the third-quarter surged 21% to Rs 194 crore and total revenue soared 31% to Rs 1,082 crore.

The company''s loan losses and provisions in the quarter to December climbed 55% to Rs 79 crore and gross non-performing assets ratio stood at 1.15% and net non-performing asset ratio stood at 0.23%.

Bajaj Finserv Limited rose 0.2% to Rs 724.50 after net profit in the third-quarter climbed 13% to Rs 281 crore and gross revenue jumped 10% to Rs 4,091 crore.

Coal India Limited gained 1.8% to Rs 295.15 after the company declared a special interim dividend of Rs 29 per share.

McNally Bharat Engineering Company Ltd advanced 0.8% to Rs 56.65 after it secured order for civil, structural and supply works of ash handling worth Rs 97.19 crore.

Reliance Industries Limited rose 0.5% to 885.40 after the company plans to acquire Petronas 11% stake in Venezuela''s $20 billion Carabobo-1 project.

Usha Martin Limited increased 0.3% to Rs 34.20 after the company’s iron ore plant at Jamshedpur is commissioned for a trial run.

Yes Bank Limited gained 1.9% to Rs 353.05 after net profit in third-quarter to December surged 21.4% to Rs 415.60 crore and total revenue climbed 17.4% to Rs 1,053.30 crore.
