CMC plunged as net jumped 5% but revenue was flat. Jay Bharat Maruti net surged 64%. NIIT Technologies net dropped 5% and revenue climbed 14%. VA Tech Wabag won Rs 250 crore order from Bangalore.

The Sensex Index slipped 101.33 or 0.5% to close at 21,032.88. The CNX Nifty dropped 30.90 to close at 6,241.85.
Gainers & Losers
CMC Limited plunged 10.3% to Rs 1,540.40 after consolidated net profit jumped 4.8% to Rs 70.54 crore on flat revenue of Rs 560.96 crore.
Gujarat Apollo Industries Ltd gained 2.7% to Rs 107.10 and the board will meet on January 18 to consider a buyback proposal.
Gati Limited surged 4.5% to Rs 65.10 after the fund run by the independent investor increased its stake in the company on Monday.
Jay Bharat Maruti Ltd soared 4.5% to Rs 55.10 after net profit in the third-quarter surged 63.7% to Rs 7.58 crore and net sales rose 0.5% to Rs 286.66 crore.
Merck Limited jumped 3.6% to Rs 572.05 after Reliance Mutual Fund bought 1.54% stake or 2.56 lacs shares at Rs 549 a share.
NIIT Technologies Ltd climbed 4.2% to Rs 387.55 after consolidated net profit in third-quarter dropped 5.3% to Rs 53.10 crore and revenue climbed 14.2% to Rs 587.30 crore.
The company said it secured new orders during quarter worth $377 million.
VA Tech Wabag Ltd fell 0.9% to Rs 553 and the company won repeat contract from Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board for about Rs 250 crore.
