The Sensex Index slipped 94.06 or 0.4% to close at 20,693.24. The CNX Nifty fell 29.20 to close at 6,162.25.
Gainers & Losers
Claris Lifesciences Ltd fell 0.3% to Rs 197.40 and the board approved the buy-back of up to 92.50 lakh equity shares of Rs.10 each at a price of Rs.250 per share aggregating to Rs.231.25 crore.
IL&FS Transportation Networks Limited gained 1.3% to Rs 139.60 and the company and Ramky Infrastructure Ltd received provisional completion certificate of a four-lane road project in Andhra Pradesh.
Larsen & Toubro Limited rose 0.8% to Rs 1,019.05 after its Saudi Arabian subsidiary secured an international engineering and construction order from Saudi Aramco, the Saudi Arabian Oil Company.
The company did not disclose the value of the order and project is to be completed in 26 months. In June, the unit had secured $300 million order from Aramco.
Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd climbed 3.7% to Rs 592.35 after Blackstone bought 2.79% stake for around Rs 81 crore.
Merrill Lynch sold its entire 14,22,245 shares valued to 2.79% stake of MCX for an average price of Rs 573 to Blackstone GPV Capital Partners Mauritius VI FII Ltd.
Valecha Engineering Limited surged 5% to Rs 36.75 after the company secured two orders worth Rs 133.45 crore.
