Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc ((ARNA)) climbed 6.8% or 38 cents to $6.02.
eBay Inc ((EBAY)) dropped 1.9% or $1.05 to $54.12 after the online market place operator sales from Thanksgiving through December 22 climbed 9.6% from a year ago.
The company has completed its previously announced acquisition of Braintree, the innovative global payment platform provider for total consideration of about $800 million in cash.
Scientific Protein Laboratories, LLC, the privately held pharmaceutical ingredients maker agreed to acquire by China-based Shenzhen Hepalink Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for $337.5 million in cash plus certain contingent payments.
The transaction is currently expected to close during the first half of 2014.
T-Mobile US Inc ((TMUS)) rose 16 cents to $32.35 after the Nikkei report Japan-based mobile carrier Softbank Corporation planning to tap the U.S. bond market for more than $19 billion to fund the acquisition of T-Mobile U.S. Inc.
United Parcel Service, Inc ((UPS)) slipped 27 cents to $104.19 after the package delivery company blamed the delay in Christmas Day package delivery on bad weather and larger than expected volume.
Amazon.com also said it will offer a shipping refund and $20 gift cards to customers.
