U.S. Movers: CalAmp, Ennis, ImmunoCellular, InterDigital, Westmoreland Coal

CalAmp revenue soared 43% but net rose modest 1%. Ennis net surged 51% on sales increase of 6%. ImmunoCellular soared on encouraging cancer drug test results. Westmoreland Coal agreed to acquire coal mining operations of Sherritt Intl Corp for $435 million.

CalAmp Corp ((CAMP)) plunged 8.4% or $2.31 to $25.25 after the wireless technology provider reported revenue in the third-quarter ending in November soared 43% to $63.5 million.

Net income in the quarter rose 1.4% to $4.21 million or 12 cents a diluted share compared to $4.15 million or 14 cents.

Calamp expected consolidated revenue in the fourth quarter to be in the range of $60 to $63 million and diluted earnings per share between 8 cents to 11 cents.

Ennis, Inc ((EBF)) dropped 2% or 36 cents to $17.49 after the printing service provider said net sales in the third-quarter ending in November jumped 5.9% to $136.6 million.

Net income in the quarter surged 51.5% to $9.35 million or 36 cents a diluted share compared to $6.17 million or 24 cents.

ImmunoCellular Therapeutics Ltd ((IMUC)) soared 16.1% or 14 cents to $1.01 after the biotechnology company said latest results of its cancer drug tests were encouraging.

InterDigital, Inc ((IDCC)) climbed 5.2% or $1.50 to $30.22 after the wireless network service provider reached an agreement with Huawei to resolve their patent licensing dispute.

Noah Education Holdings Ltd ((NED)) surged 13.3% or 30 cents to $2.55 after the China-based multimedia learning materials provider received offer to go private at $2.80 a share.

Westmoreland Coal Company ((WLB)) climbed 10.6% or $1.66 to $17.28 after the coal miner agreed to acquire the Prairie and Mountain coal mining operations of Sherritt International Corp for $435 million.
