Europe Earnings: Bankia, Boskalis, Lagardere, Rio Tinto, Segro

    Bankia sold its stakes in private-equity firms. Boskalis

[R]3:40 PM Frankfurt – Bankia sold its stakes in private-equity firms. Boskalis’s subsidiary won a contract for $275 million. Lagardere agreed to acquire 49% stake of Regie 1 from Publicis Groupe. Rio Tinto plans to sell 19.1% stake in copper and gold mine in Alaska.[/R]

In London trading, FTSE 100 index gained 0.2% or 15.56 to 6,694 and in Frankfurt the DAX index jumped 0.9% or 88.64 to 9,489.

In Paris, CAC 40 index rose 0.1% or 3.12 to 4,218.

Bankia SA increased 1% to €1.17 after the Spain-based commercial bank sold its stakes in private-equity firms.

Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV jumped 2.7% to €38.22 after the Netherlands-based infrastructure service provider’s subsidiary Dockwise won a contract from Bechtel for transport equipments from China and Malaysia to Chevron-operated Wheatstone project in Western Australia.

The contract valued estimated at about $275 million.

Lagardere SCA slipped 1% to €26.42 after the France-based media group agreed to acquire 49% stake of Regie 1, the media agency from Publicis Groupe.

Rio Tinto Plc rose 0.2% to 3,325 pence after the U.K.-based mining company plans to sell its 19.1% stake in a proposed copper and gold mine in Alaska.

Segro Plc gained 0.9% to 337.70 pence after the U.K.-based property investment company said it completed the sale of Neckermann site for €46 million.
