The Sensex Index rose 21.31 to close at 21,101.03. The CNX Nifty gained 10.25 to close at 6,284.50.

Gainers & Losers

Andhra Bank gained 2.1% Rs 62.10 and the state-run lender allotted 3,00,34,539 equity shares to the government on a preferential basis valued Rs 200 crore.

Hindustan Construction Company Limited soared 5.2% to Rs 14.19 after the company won a contract worth Rs 1,597 crore to construct Hydro Electric Power project in Chamoli district of Uttrakhand.

Il&Fs Engineering & Construction Co Ltd climbed 3.4% to Rs 33.75 after the firm received contract worth Rs 144.65 crore for a railway project.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited rose 0.1% to Rs 732.65 and Qatar Investment Authority is in talks to invest $200 million in residential property in India.

Yes Bank Limited jumped 2.4 to Rs 379.45 after the bank finalized a 7-year loan of $150 million from International Finance Corporation.
