The Sensex Index slipped 71.16 or 0.3% to close at 21,255.26. The CNX Nifty fell 31.05 to close at 6,332.85.

Gainers & Losers

Alstom T&D India Limited declined 2.9% to Rs 175 after the company secured two contracts worth Rs 151 crore from Gujarat Energy Transmission Company.

Bharti Airtel Limited decreased 0.4% to Rs 335.35 and the company plans to invest Rs 4,000 crore in Punjab in next five years to expand optical fibre network and 4G services.

C & C Constructions Limited soared 4.6% to Rs 29.65 after the company received an order worth Rs 133.56 crore for building a flyover and rail bridge in Uttarakhand.

GVK Power & Infrastructure Limited surged 9.7% to Rs 9.09 after the company said it has relieved the Australian Federal Government''s approval for its Abbot Point Port Capital Dredging program.

Lupin Limited gained 2% to Rs 871.10 after the company received final approval for its generic version of Trizivir tablets from the U.S. drug regulator.

Larsen & Toubro Limited declined 3.4% to Rs 1,107.85 after the company won order for six ships worth above $100 million.

NMDC Limited sild 0.7% to Rs 142 and the company sold 1,85,00,000 tons of iron ore in during the first eight months of the ongoing fiscal year.

State Bank of India dropped 2.4% to Rs 1,844.55 after the largest lender received government approval to raise Rs 9,576 crore of equity through a qualified institutional share placement.
