The Sensex Index increased 81.87 or 0.4% to close at 21,039.68. The CNX Nifty gained 18.80 to close at 6,259.90. For the week, Sensex rose 0.9%.

Gainers & Losers

Cairn India Limited gained 1.8% to Rs 324.75 after the oil and gas explorer bids for one oil and gas exploration block in Sri Lanka.

Lupin Limited rose 0.3% to Rs 857.85 after the company’s U.S.-based subsidiary launched generic version of Fenofibric Acid Delayed Release Capsules in the U.S.

MphasiS Limited slipped 1.6% to Rs 394.75 after net profit in the fourth-quarter declined 9.1% to Rs 190.22 crore and revenues surged 20% to Rs 1,616.18 crore.

SML Isuzu, Ltd climbed 7.9% to Rs 300.65 after the total vehicle sales in November jumped 11% to 666 units.

Tata Power Company Limited climbed 5.6% to Rs 88.10 after the electric utility provider is expecting the final order on a power project at Mundra by the end of this month.

Tata Motors Limited rose 02% to Rs 391 and the company plans a new manufacturing facility in Brazil and invest £240 million and produce 24,000 units a year. The first vehicle is expected in 2016.

Videocon Industries Limited slipped 1.4% to Rs 168 and the company plans to pay Italian Bank Intesa Sanpaolo SPA, its dues of about €38 million by January 27.
