AeroVironment, Inc ((AVAV)) soared 11.2% or $2.90 to $29.82 after the aerospace and defense products provider said revenue in the second-quarter plunged 19% to $64.9 million.
Net income in the quarter tumbled 80.5% to $1.7 million or 7 cents a diluted share compared to $8.7 million or 39 cents.
For the year, the company expects revenue in the range of $230 million to $250 million and diluted earnings per share between 35 cents and 50 cents.
Barnes & Noble, Inc ((BKS)) climbed 4.8% or 75 cents to $16.20 after the bookseller reported revenue in the second-quarter ending on October 26 dropped 8% to $1.73 billion.
Net earnings in the quarter surged to $13.2 million or 15 cents a diluted share compared to $0.5 million or loss of 7 cents.
The bookseller added revenue from the retail segment in the quarter declined 7.5% to $921 million and revenue from the college segment decreased 4.6% to $738 million.
Revenues from the company’s digital business plunged 32.2% to $109 million.
The company reaffirmed its previously issued full-year guidance.
Hewlett-Packard Company ((HPQ)) surged 8.4% or $2.10 to $27.21 after computer maker reported revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in October dropped 3% to $29.1 billion.
Net in the quarter swung to a profit $1.41 billion or 73 cents a diluted share compared to a loss of $6.85 billion or $3.49.
Net revenue for the year declined 7% to $112.3 billion and net in the quarter swung to a profit $5.11 billion or $2.62 a diluted share compared to a loss of $12.65 billion or $6.41 a share.
The company said revenue in the quarter from the personal systems slid 2% and printing revenue fell 1%. Enterprise group revenue rose 2% but enterprise services revenue declined 9%. Software revenue plunged 9% and HP financial services revenue plummeted 6%.
For the first quarter, HP estimates diluted earnings per share in the range of 60 cents to 64 cents and for the year in the range of $2.85 to $3.05.
Infoblox Inc ((BLOX)) tumbled 22.4% or $10.07 to $34.89 after the automated network controller said total net revenue in the first-quarter ending in October soared 28% to $63.5 million.
Net loss in the quarter widened to $2.5 million compared to $2.4 million and diluted earnings per share were unchanged at 5 cents from a year ago.
Nuance Communications Inc ((NUAN)) rose 1 cent to $13.11 after the voice and language solution provider reported revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in September jumped 12.3% to $472.2 million.
Net in the quarter swung to a loss $32.3 million or 10 cents a diluted share compared to a profit of $117.6 million or 36 cents.
TiVo Inc ((TIVO)) declined 5.4% or 72 cents to $12.52 after the software and technology provider said revenue in the third-quarter ending in October climbed 43% to $117.3 million.
Net income in the quarter plummeted 78.8% to $12.5 million or 10 cents a diluted share compared to $59 million or 44 cents.
