Cipla net plunged 27% but revenue jumped 14%. Coal India net slid. HCL net surged 42%. IRB Infra dropped 12%. ONGC profit grew 3%. RECL net jumped 16%. Sun Pharma net surged. Tata Steel and Tata Power net swung to profit.

The Sensex Index increased 117.51 or 0.6% to close at 20,399.42. The CNX Nifty gained 38.10 to close at 6,056.15.

Gainers & Losers

Cipla Limited dropped 3.2% to Rs 407.35 after consolidated net profit in the second-quarter plunged 26.6% to Rs 358 crore and revenues jumped 14% to Rs 2,463 crore.

Coal India Limited slipped 2.9% to Rs 276.80 after consolidated net profit in the second-quarter slid 0.8% to Rs 3,052.36 crore and revenues advanced 5.6% to Rs 17,594.28 crore.

Hindustan Copper Limited rose 2% to Rs 70.10 after net profit in the second-quarter surged 41.9% to Rs 62.01 crore and revenues climbed 16.4% to Rs 355.76 crore.

IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd soared 4.9% to Rs 88.45 after consolidated profit in the second-quarter dropped 12% to Rs 107 crore and revenues climbed 10% to Rs 967 crore.

Kaveri Seed Co Ltd climbed 4.2% to Rs 1,582.70 after consolidated net profit in the second-quarter soared 46% to Rs 8.86 crore and revenues surged 62% to Rs 103.23 crore.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited gained 2.9% to Rs 273.50 after net profit in the second-quarter grew 2.8% to Rs 6,063.86 crore and total revenues climbed 9.7% to Rs 23,897.64 crore.

PTC India Limited jumped 3.5% to Rs 58.05 after net profit in the second-quarter soared 38.8% to Rs 61.84 crore and total revenues climbed 12.4% to Rs 3,140.16 crore.

Ricoh India Limited surged 20.9% to Rs 103.75 after net in the second-quarter swung to a profit Rs 0.03 crore compared to a loss of Rs 6.23 crore. Revenues soared 85.5% to Rs 296.23 crore.

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited added 1.4% to Rs 213.70 after net profit in the second-quarter jumped 16.4% to Rs 1,110.67 crore and revenues climbed 27.5% to Rs 4,224.25 crore.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited rose 0.3% to Rs 599.65 after consolidated net profit surged to Rs 1,362 crore and net sales soared 58% to Rs 4,192 crore.

Tata Steel Limited jumped 5% to Rs 369.65 after consolidated net in the second-quarter swung to a profit Rs 916.77 crore compared to a loss of Rs 363.93 crore. Consolidated revenue climbed 7.4% to Rs 36,645 crore.

Tata Power Company Limited fell 0.7% to Rs 78.70 after net in the second-quarter swung to a profit Rs 74.97 crore compared to a loss of Rs 83.80 crore. Total revenues jumped 9.1% to 9.1% to Rs 8,471.78 crore.
