U.S. Movers: Becton Dickinson, Cognizant, Hertz, J&J, Rock-Tenn, Tidewater

Atlas Pipeline Partners, LP ((APL)) increased 1.6% or 62 cents to $38.50 after the gas services provider stated total revenues in the third-quarter ending in September surged 101% to $557.9 million. Net loss in the quarter widened to $47.5 million or 66 cents a diluted share compared to $7.87 million or 17 cents.

Becton, Dickinson and Company ((BDX)) gained 49 cents to $106.56 after the medical devices company said revenues in the fourth-quarter ending in September jumped 7% to $2.10 billion. Net income in the quarter plummeted 69% to $91 million or 46 cents a diluted share compared to $289 million or $1.45.

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation ((CTSH)) climbed 4.2% or $3.65 to $86.85 after the outsourcing service provider reported revenues in the third-quarter ending in September advanced 7% to $2.3 billion. Net income in the quarter climbed 15% to $319.6 million or $1.06 a diluted share compared to $276.9 million or 93 cents.

Endo Health Solutions Inc. ((ENDP)) surged 25.8% or $11.26 to $54.90 after the healthcare company said total revenues in the third-quarter ending in September slipped 5% to $715 million. Net income in the quarter declined 26% to $40 million or 33 cents a diluted share compared to $54 million or 45 cents.

Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc ((HST)) declined 4.2% or 77 cents to $18.29 after the hospitality service provider stated total revenues in the third-quarter ending in September rose 5% to $1.22 billion. Net in the quarter swung to a profit $19 million or 3 cents a diluted share compared to a loss of $34 million or 5 cents.

Hertz Global Holdings, Inc ((HTZ)) rose 18 cents to $23.98 after the transportation service provider reported revenues in the third-quarter ending in September surged 22% to $3.1 billion. Net income in the quarter dropped 12% to $214.7 million or 47 cents a diluted share compared to $242.9 million or 55 cents.

Johnson & Johnson ((JNJ)) decreased 46 cents to $92.53 after the healthcare products maker agreed to pay $2.2 billion to the federal government and state Medicaid programs to settle with the U.S. Department of Justice and 45 states related to federal investigations and state Medicaid claims for promotional practices between 1999 and 2005.

Rock-Tenn Company ((RKT)) rose 1.3% or $1.39 to $109.42 after the packaging company said net sales in the fourth-quarter ending in September advanced 6% to $2.49 billion. Net income in the quarter soared 114% to $176.5 million or $2.40 a diluted share compared to $82.3 million or $1.14.

Tidewater Inc. ((TDW)) jumped 2% or $1.22 to $61.21 after the vessels and marine support service provider stated revenues in the third-quarter ending in September climbed 18% to $367.9 million. Net income in the quarter surged 31% to $54.2 million or $1.09 a diluted share compared to $41.4 million or 83 cents.

Zebra Technologies Corporation ((ZBRA)) soared 13.3% or $6.47 to $48.50 after the printing devices maker reported revenues in the third-quarter ending in September grew 5% to $263.5 million. Net income in the quarter soared 42% to $38.6 million or 76 cents a diluted share compared to $27.1 million or 52 cents.
