Adani Power net loss widened. Essar shipping net loss narrowed. GAIL (India) net fell 7%. ICICI Bank net soared 20% and IOB net declined 16%. Idea profit soared 13%. TVS Motor net surged 97%. Tata Sponge net plunged 29%.

The Sensex Index fell 60.73 to close at 20,664.70 The CNX Nifty slumped 19.45 to close at 6,144.90. For the week, Sensex slid 0.9%.

Gainers & Losers

Adani Power Limited plunged 5.6% to Rs 33.45 after consolidated net loss in the second quarter widened to Rs 1,071.91 crore compared to Rs 260.91 crore.

In the second quarter, the company sold 9.1 billion units of power compared to 4.1 billion units in the same quarter last year.

Essar Shipping Limited gained 0.6% to Rs 17.55 after consolidated net loss in the second quarter narrowed to Rs 11.20 crore compared to Rs 35.99 crore. Consolidated revenue declined 35.3% to Rs 516.08 crore.

GAIL (India) Limited declined 2.2% to Rs 343.55 after net profit in the second quarter dropped 7.1% to Rs 915.67 crore and sales jumped 22% to Rs 14,224.37 crore.

ICICI Bank Limited closed unchanged at Rs 1,021.65 after net profit soared 20.2% to Rs 2,352.05 crore and climbed 7.5% to Rs 12,979.75 crore.

Indian Overseas Bank declined 3.3% to Rs 47.80 after net profit in the second quarter declined 16.3% to Rs 132.55 crore and revenues advanced 8.8% to Rs 5,999.75 crore.

Orient Cement Limited dropped 2.1% to Rs 38.20 after net profit in the second quarter plunged 60.5% to Rs 14.45 crore and revenue slipped 9.5% to Rs 322.29 crore.

Rolta India Limited increased 1.2% to Rs 59.40 after consolidated net profit in the first quarter rose 11.1% to Rs 70.26 crore and revenue surged 33.5% to Rs 627.77 crore.

TVS Motor Company Limited jumped 2.1% to Rs 50.80 after net profit surged 96.6% to Rs 88.84 crore and revenues jumped 16.1% to Rs 1,988.37 crore.

Thomas Cook (India) Limited climbed 2.3% to Rs 78.05 after consolidated net profit in the second quarter soared to 50.9% to Rs 15.18 crore and revenues surged 313.5% to Rs 436.71 crore.

Tata Sponge Iron Limited slid 0.7% to Rs 305.95 after net profit in the second quarter plunged 28.9% to Rs 18.33 crore and net sales fell 4.4% to Rs 180.29 crore.

Unichem Laboratories Limited gained 2.3% to Rs 170.50 after the company received Rs 160.50 crore from sale proceeds of its Indore SEZ Plant.
