Bristol-Myers Squibb Company ((BMY)) fell 1.5% or 77 cents to $48.96 after the bio-pharmaceutical products maker reported revenues in the third-quarter ending in September climbed 9% to $4.07 billion. Net in the quarter swung to a profit $692 million or 42 cents a diluted share compared to a loss of $711 million or 43 cents.
The Boeing Company ((BA)) jumped 6% or $7.35 to $129.39 after the aerospace company stated revenues in the third-quarter ending in September jumped 11% to $22 billion. Net earnings in the quarter soared 12% to $1.16 billion or $1.51 a diluted share compared to $1.03 billion or $1.35
Caterpillar Inc. ((CAT)) declined 6.1% or $5.45 to $83.72 after the mining equipment maker said revenues in the third-quarter ending in September tumbled 18% to $13.42 million. Net income in the quarter plummeted 44% to $946 million or $1.45 a diluted share compared to $1.7 billion or $2.54.
Corning Inc ((GLW)) surged 9.8% or $1.50 to $16.85 after the technology company stated revenues in the third-quarter ending in September advanced 5% to $2.1 billion. Net income in the quarter plunged 24% to $408 million or 28 cents a diluted share compared to $533 million or 36 cents.
Eli Lilly and Company ((LLY)) rose 8 cents to $50.23 after the pharmaceutical products maker reported total revenue in the third-quarter jumped 6% to $5.77 billion. Net income in the quarter dropped 9% to $1.20 billion or $1.11 a diluted share compared to $1.33 billion or $1.18.
Lorillard, Inc. ((LO)) gained 21 cents to $48.96 after the tobacco products maker said revenues in the third-quarter ending in September gained 10% to $1.83 billion. Net income in the quarter declined 9% to $258 million or 69 cents a diluted share compared to $283 million or 72 cents.
Prologis, Inc. ((PLD)) slid 3 cents to $40.65 after the real estate developer stated revenues in the third-quarter ending in September dropped 14% to $430.2 million. Net loss in the quarter narrowed to $7.54 million or 2 cents a diluted share compared to $46.5 million or 10 cents.
WellPoint, Inc. ((WLP)) dropped 2.7% or $2.38 to $86.05 after the health insurer company reported net sales in the third-quarter ending in September surged 17% to $18 billion. Net income in the quarter dropped 5% to $656.2 million or $2.16 a diluted share compared to $691.2 million or $2.15.
